VOLUNTEER AT THE WORLD AFFAIRS CHALLENGE!
This year, over 700 middle and high school students from 23 schools throughout the Bay Area have been researching and identifying problems related to this year’s theme, “Food: Feeding the Planet Sustainably in the 21st Century”. On April 16th, 2011, over 300 of those students will come to San Francisco State University to share what they have learned with peers, parents and community members.
To help make this event a meaningful experience for students, World Savvy invites individuals from the community to serve as judges, proctors, and general volunteers on Challenge Day. Anyone who has an appreciation for international affairs and education is welcome; no prior knowledge of the theme is required. I hope you will consider supporting Bay Area youth as they explore solutions to some of our world’s most pressing food-related issues, including hunger, nutrition, sustainable agriculture, the environmental impact of our food system, trade and much more.
